September 30, 2026 -- EAST GRAND RAPIDS, MI The EGR Girls Field Hockey team broke up the late season practice schedule with a little fun for practice. After a "short" training run, they made their way to the back field behind the middle school and had a full program water balloon fight with coaches taking part in it as well. Over 1200 water balloons had been prepared by FH Parents Boosters Katie Paul, Alyssa Albers, Jodi Astrauskas & Clay Lepley. This all out bedlam on the back field gave many of the players an opportunity to take aim at each other and the coaches in a fun (and very wet) way! Pitter Patter...Time to get back at 'er!! Come check out the 3-peat OK Conference champions as they participate in the Homecoming festivities as the only home game this Saturday, Oct. 3. The Girls Field Hockey Varsity will tip back at 11:00 AM on Mehney Field as they take on Bloomfield Hills. JV's game against the Blackhawks will start at the conclusion of the Varsity contest (approximately 12:30).
