EGR Varsity Field Hockey v Dexter High School- 9.05.24 The Lady Pioneers started September with an extremely tough match against the reigning MI State Champions, the Dexter Dreadnaughts. And the Dreadnaughts came ready to show why they are ready to make a run at it again. The Lady Pioneers came out with an inspired first quarter holding Dexter to one goal. However the legs tired and the push came from Dexter in the 2nd and 3rd quarters leading to a 0-7 lead after three quarters. However, Dexter came out with determination to end the game early in the fourth quarter with a mercy score. The relentless attack by Dexter was consistently turned away by the EGR Lady Pioneers, who showed their mettle with a spirited effort to stave off the mercy rule and played the Dreadnaughts to a 0-0 tie for that 4th quarter. Not the result the team wanted, but definitely showed the areas the team can work on to improve in the run up to the playoffs in October.
