EGR Varsity Field Hockey v Chelsea High School- 9.07.24 The Lady Pioneers finished off a tough wee, albeit a shortened one due to the holiday, with a match-up against the 2023 defending Runners-up in the MI State Championship, Chelsea High School. And the match-up proved to be a repeat of the game against the State Champs from earlier in the week. The Saturday tilt was a difficult cold weather affair with a blustery wind adding to the chill. And the offense suffered from a chilly reception from the Chelsea defense. Meanwhile, the Chelsea offense provided the heat with 2 goals in each of the first two quarters. They scored another 3 in the 3rd frame. The match ended midway through the 4th quarter with the 8th goal from the Chelsea team resulting in a 0-8 mercy rule ending. The Lady Pioneers will not be able to relax much, as the OK Conference play will pick up with two matches this coming week at Rockford on Monday (9.09.24) and again at Spring Lake on Thursday (9.12.24).
